Politics Are Faboo!

  1. Hello, Mr Ruegger, I'm (big fan of your work) sorry that this comment will have almost nothing to do with this particular blog post you'd made, but I have to ask a very good question:
I have recorded myself singing the "Nations of the World (Yakko's World)" song (so that I could put it on YouTube), but I know that the song is copyrighted. Who should I contact in order for me to get the rights and permission to upload the video of me reciting the song? Is it you (the creator of the show, Animaniacs) or maybe is it RANDY ROGEL (the composer of the song)? Please help me out on this (I don't want to have a copyright strike on YouTube and I also don't want anyone to think that I'm just blatantly stealing someone else' property, when I'm actually trying to honor and pay homage to it). If I get the permission to upload the video, the video itself will called "Zakiyus Hardy's 2012 JV Show Audition", just in case you'd ever wanted to see someone, other than the legendary Rob Paulsen, perform the song.
I'm extremely sorry for this long comment, but I just had to ask. Thanks for your time!

  2. I don't think anyone will give you a hard time for performing the song on a youtube video. If you were making money from the video, they might come after you, but you are not.

Warner Bros./Chappel Music owns the song rights.

  3. Thank you so much and I'll try to contact Chappel Music about it. Of course and always, keep it up with your blog, Cartoonatics (I follow it as much as possible)!
