The Warner Bros. Store -- 5th Avenue, New York City, 1995 -- Part 2
A couple of additional photos of the flagship Warner Bros. Studio Store in NYC back in mid-1995, when they featured "Animaniacs," specifically Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, in their window displays.
This is awesome! Shame they don't still have three awesome iconic characters to draw people to their stores. How big of a sensation were these characters during the show's run? Potentially, these characters could have been as big as Bugs Bunny if the show wasn't ruined by the network, and Jamie Kelner.
"The Warners were big -- it's the windows at the store that were too small!" -- Weed Memlo, animation director, incoherently babbling at the Motion Picture Industry Rest Home, Woodland Hills CA -- June, 2011.

ReplyDeleteGotta love this trio!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like Weed Memlo.
ReplyDeleteWeed was collicky as an adult.
ReplyDeleteI hear that Weed alternately loves and hates "Interesting News Items," which is now a part of "My Blog List."
Is Weed...... Less fortunate?
ReplyDeleteIf Weed was directing Buddy cartoons in 1929, how old is he now....115?
ReplyDeleteHe's a cantankerous 111.

ReplyDeleteNo -- it's a shame they don't have stores to draw people to their iconic characters.
