  2. I think diddly's as close to that sound as you can get without resorting to foreign characters or hieroglyphics.

  5. I think Flanders does use that word.

    "Diddly Diddly Diddly Diddly" reminds me of an old Hanna-Barbera sound effect used for sneaking on tiptoes. We used it for Velma's scissor-step walk on "A Pup Named Scooby Doo."

  6. BTW, the basset in the comic strip who wears the detective outfit is named Fetch (AKA Tracker). The basset in the strip without the trenchcoat is called Skitch (AKA Gooey). But they look alike to me.
