"Give Peace A Chance" -- From the Summer of 1969

The Beatles song "Give Peace A Chance" was in heavy rotation on WABC-AM in NYC during the summer of 1969.  I drew this with markers on a canvas board in August '69.

  2. I love this so much! So superbly psychedelic. And I think that's the best picture of Superman ever.

This is one of the few pieces that has survived from back then with little fading, probably because canvas lasts so much more longer than paper

  4. I used to think markers as boring. Then someone kindly showed me Tom Ruegger. A pleasing color pallette, bright and colorfully without being overwhelmingly flashy. I love it! And I'd print it out, but I'm afraid my printer would have a seizure from all the colors. You, sir, deserve a gold star for this peace of art.(heh heh, see what I did there?)

..But when you talk about destruction,

Don't you know that you can count me out!

  7. Really wonderful "peace", Tom.

Though "Give Piece a chance" is actually a John Lennon single, rather than a Beatles song.

  8. Yes, Mattieshoe, from the Plastic Ono Band. Tommy Smothers is playing the guitar and singing along, among other voices.
