Slappy and Skippy Squirrel
From "Animaniacs" episode #62: "Scare Happy Slappy."
The voices behind Slappy and Skippy, Sherri Stoner and Nate Ruegger, reunite on The Nostalgia Critic's Tribute to "Animaniacs"...Check it out at...That Guy with the Glasses
Interesting, I never noticed until now that Skippy's legs are actualy longer than Slappy's in that costume. Might have looked wierd to see him drawn with short legs in that costume
I didn't think it was possible but Skippy actually looks even more adorable than usual in that costume. :) <3 What episode is this? I don't think I've seen it before.
Yes...and I believe "Scare-Happy Slappy" was written (to great comic effect) by none other than the author of "Death Honk," Mr. John P. McCann. whose blog is... http://writeenough.blogspot.com/ Write Enough And do read his recent short story "Death Honk." Fabulous and funny!
you know Tom, I think Slappy would destroy Lady Gaga, but I found someone who would be a good friend for Slappy, in fact, she won't destroy him, they will get along, ¿who is it?, itsss.... !!Hugh Laurie!! from HOUSE M.D. !a cool duo ¿don't you think?
I love this episode. I love all the Slappy and Skippy sketches, but the one that takes the cake, for me, is "Bully for Skippy". Brilliant satire there. The other one that I love, although it breaks my heart, is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo Clock". I love it because it has brilliant characterization and it takes Slappy's character to its full potential. You really feel for her as she ages and watches how the TV has changed. It really gives her humanity. Kudos to Tom and all involved. You guys really took the time to develop your characters, and that's what I love about your work.
Thanks Marlena. Cuckoo Clock had a lot to do with my relationship with my Great Aunt Kay when I was a kid. She was a great and positive influence. Some people fought that episode -- they thought it wasn't funny enough -- but I felt there was room for it. Glad you liked it!
Oh, that must have been a personal episode for you to write. I'm glad that you managed to air it, despite the people who fought it. It's a very beautiful episode, and I love Slappy and Skippy. The part that made me tear up most was when the social worker took Skippy away. The part where Slappy watches Skippy walk away and sheds a tear is a close second.
Skippy, you're already adorable what are you trying to do to us?? <3
ReplyDeleteYes, the Buster Bunny costume is a little over the top.
ReplyDeleteHe knows he's cute. He's just flaunting it in front of our faces now.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite Slappy & Skippy eps : )
