Oh, I loved this when I first saw it and I still love it now. It's the prettiest Nativity cartoon I've seen on TV...it's also the only Nativity cartoon I've seen on TV.
Margaret Loesch seemed to be more lenient toward religious references than most other kidvid overlords....there were also some other shows under her watch that got to say the word "Jesus."
I know it's late, I just wanted to say this short is very dear to me, and I may never see anothere one with as much heart put behind it again. Thank everyone involved for their hard work.
I love this sketch very much. It's so heartfelt and honest. And the Warners are adorable here; they're always wreaking havoc, but here is a time when you get to see their gentle side.
And somewhere this Christmas, I've a feeling they'll be another new star shining, having revisited this short again... =)
ReplyDeleteMiss you Earl.
Thanks again, Tom. Merry Christmas to you, too :)
A fine of piece of "on-film-forever.'
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. I love that line, John. Was that you who first said it?
ReplyDeleteCredit to Peter Hastings.

ReplyDeleteThis was a classic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to ring in the holidays! ...or should I say "swing" in the holidays? Swing out, sibs!
ReplyDeleteThe singers make me BAWL in this special. Really tells you what Christmas is all about.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas tonight!
