How were you able to use Bosko and Honey in Tiny Toons? Hugh Harman had copyrighted the character even before making the pilot film that attracted Leon Schlesinger and Warners, Harman and Ising were able to take the character to MGM, and licensed the character for a coloring book around the 1960's. Did Warners acquire the rights to Bosko and Honey, or had the characters fallen into the public domain?
Warner Bros owns all the Looney Tunes cartoons, including the ancient ones featuring Bosko and Honey circa 1930. We were given free rein to use or reference anything from any of the cartoons with a few exceptions. Bosko and Honey were not among those exceptions. We specifically used/reacted to the Bosko and Honey characters that we saw in those early Looney Tunes.
