On the Lot -- Warner Bros. Animation --1993

Here's a group shot taken in early 1993.

Following the success of Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania and Batman: the Animated Series, Warner Bros. Animation was embarking on its second collaboration with Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment:  Animaniacs.

Pictured above are just a few of the people involved in these productions.   From left to right:  Bruce Timm (producer, designer -- Batman: the Animated Series), Terry Semel (Warner Bros. Co-Chairman & Co-CEO) , Kathleen Helppie (producer, Warner Bros. Classic Animation), Bob Daly (Warner Bros. Co-Chairman & Co-CEO),  Eric Radomski (producer, designer -- Batman: the Animated Series), Steven Spielberg (executive producer -- Tiny Toon Adventures & Animaniacs), Art Vitello, (director -- Tiny Toon Adventures; writer/producer -- Taz-Mania),  Jean MacCurdy (President of Warner Bros. Animation & executive in charge of production), Rich Arons (director -- Tiny Toon Adventures; producer -- Animaniacs), Sherri Stoner (writer/producer -- Tiny Toon Adventures & Animaniacs), Alan Burnett (writer/producer -- Batman: the Animated Series), and some guy named Tom Ruegger (writer/senior producer,  Tiny Toons & Animaniacs; writer/executive producer -- Batman: the Animated Series.)

Please note:  Many hundreds of other people -- not pictured above -- helped to make these shows successful.

  1. I heard rumors that Ruegger guy has a blog, maybe you should look for it and check it out.

    Nice shot!
Gotta be grateful to all of you and those who are not in the picture, thank you! :)

  2. That pic made me go "Awww~". I'm so thankful for the work all of you did on those shows. Those productions changed (and continue to change, thanks to DVD's) millions of kids' and adults' lives.

  4. A really nice photo, and a nice shot of the
Warner Bros. Animation HQ back then...
Sorry to get off topic here, but I have this question
that has been bugging me for days...
Who actually sang the cover of "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" for the Animaniacs episode "Little Old Slappy from Pasadena"?
Did you guys actually get Jan and Dean (since it really DOES sound like them)
or were they sound-a-likes (i.e. Jess Harnell)?
Please answer as soon as you can, before I go crazzzzzzy.... :P

    1. Word. But I'd like to say that in DeviantArt, there are plenty of Fans of TTA and Animaniacs that would make Their Own Fictional Characters and would like to Said Shows to be back with a few Changes. and they are:

      ACME Loo to ACME Academy
New Students in ACME and Perfecto
Magic Users (in the form of Raccoons and a Kindly Black Cat)
and some Surprises along the Way.

P.s. What's the Name of the Real Names of the Perfecto Horse and Bovine? Fans say it's Bledsoe Brabant and Bertha Bovine.

    2. I think it is a daft idea to have magic users in TTA. The Tiny Toons are based off Looney Tunes which are clearly not magic users except Witch Hazel but that's just splitting hairs. It doesn't need new students which are not based off any Looney Tune. There is nothing wrong with the school called Acme Looniversity. It doesn't need a name change. Be happy the way it is.

  6. Tom ~

I loved Animaniacs, even though I was supposed to be too old for cartoons. I still use Wakko's America for trivia questions on the state capitols. (Next: the Presidents.)

I did a search for you bc I'm listening to my Animaniacs soundtrack as I work, and on the same Playlist is Songs to Wear Pants To. So I thought about pointing you to another young songwriter who I think is hilarious. He wrote a viral song a couple of years ago "Pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows" which got a few million hits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWM2joNb9NE
He has a lot of other short (and insane) songs on his websites, some done on paid commission, and I think he's been supporting himself writing crazy songs on demand for almost a decade.

  8. Is the animator from "The Looney Beginning" supposed to be portraying someone or is he just made up? http://sharetv.org/images/guide/369992.jpg

  9. While he's made up, he looks a lot like Charlie Bean looked back then.

  10. Just wondering what font is used for the Tiny Toon Adventures logo?
